Science facts have a failure mode that other fact categories do not: they get simplified into something false. “We only use 10% of our brain” started as a simplification of something real and became a myth that outlived the finding. If you cannot state the fact accurately in one sentence, it is usually a sign the sentence needs a footnote rather than more compression.
That is what the footnote line is for here. The claim goes in the main text where it has to be short, and the qualifier that keeps it honest goes underneath, arriving after the claim has landed.
The Education template is built for this kind of content: high contrast, restrained motion and typography that stays readable at phone size.
Tips that actually help
-
Put the caveat in the footnote
A science fact stated without its qualifier is how myths start. The footnote lets the claim stay short without letting it become wrong.
-
Name the effect
Giving a phenomenon its actual name — the Mpemba effect, tidal locking — lets curious viewers go and read more, and signals that you did not get this from another fact account.
-
Correct a myth rather than adding a fact
Debunking something the audience believes reliably outperforms teaching them something new, because being wrong is more memorable than being informed.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add a source or citation? +
Yes — the footnote line carries a study, a name or a date, and appears once the main text has been read rather than alongside it.
Can I mix facts with quiz questions? +
Yes. One project can contain fact cards and multiple-choice rounds together, so a fact card followed by a question about it works without any extra setup.
Is this suitable for classroom use? +
Yes. No account is required, nothing is uploaded, and exports have no watermark — so no classroom content leaves the device.
