A riddle is not a quiz question. Offering four options destroys it, because the answer stops being something you work out and becomes something you eliminate. What a riddle needs instead is silence — the question on screen, a countdown running, and nothing else to look at.

YAQUIZO has a scene type built for exactly this: the riddle on the front, the answer on the back, a timer between them, and no option tiles at all. There is an optional hint line that sits under the riddle while the clock runs, for the ones that are genuinely too hard without a nudge.

Give riddles longer than you think. Five seconds feels generous when you already know the answer and short to everyone else; seven to ten is closer to right.

Tips that actually help

Frequently asked questions

Do riddles show multiple-choice options? +

No. Riddle cards use the flashcard scene type: prompt, countdown, answer. There are no tiles, because eliminating options is not solving a riddle.

Can I add a hint? +

Yes. The hint line sits under the riddle while the timer runs and steps aside when the answer appears.

How many riddles per video? +

Four to six. At eight to ten seconds each that is a 45 to 60-second video, and riddles do not compress well below that.
