Opening a PDF is supposed to be the easy part. Then you are on a borrowed laptop, or a locked-down work machine, or a phone that insists on handing the file to an app you have never heard of — and suddenly a document you already have is a document you cannot read. The usual fix is to upload it to a website, which is a strange trade to make for something as ordinary as looking at a page.
This viewer does not make that trade. Your browser reads the file and draws each page itself, so the document never leaves the device it is already on. There is no account, no queue, no temporary copy sitting on a server waiting to be cleaned up, and nothing to install. Once the page has loaded it keeps working with the network off.
It reads and nothing else, on purpose. Pages are shown exactly as they are stored, at your screen’s full resolution, and the file is left untouched. When you do need to change a document, the other tools here handle that — and they follow the same rule about not uploading anything.
How to view a PDF in your browser

1. Open your PDF
Drag the file onto the drop zone or choose it from your device. The first page appears as soon as it is read.

2. Move through the pages
Use the arrows, type a page number, or click a page in the strip along the bottom. Arrow keys work once the page area has focus.

3. Adjust the view
Zoom in or out, snap back to fit-width, or rotate the page ninety degrees at a time for a sideways scan. Full view hands the whole screen to the document.

4. Close when you are done
Press Close and the document is dropped from memory. Nothing was ever written to a server, so there is nothing to delete.
Frequently asked questions
How do I open a PDF without installing anything? +
Drop the file onto the viewer above. The page reads and draws the PDF itself, so it works on a machine with no PDF reader installed and on one where you are not allowed to install one.
Is my file uploaded when I view it here? +
No. The PDF is read and rendered entirely inside your browser, and no part of it is transmitted. That is what makes this safe for contracts, payslips, medical records and scanned ID. Once the page has loaded it works offline.
Is there a file size or page limit? +
No fixed limit. Pages are drawn one at a time rather than all at once, so long documents open about as quickly as short ones. The practical ceiling is your device’s memory, and a very large scan will simply take a moment to open.
Can I view a password-protected PDF? +
Not here. An encrypted file cannot be read without its password. Open it in a reader that has the password, save an unprotected copy, and view that copy here.
Can I read a PDF full screen? +
Yes. The ⤢ button in the toolbar hands the whole screen to the document, hiding the rest of the page so a dense scan or a small-print contract has room to breathe. The toolbar and page strip stay put, and Escape brings you back.
Can I select or copy text from the page? +
Not in this viewer — pages are drawn as images, so text is displayed rather than selectable. If you need the text, open the file in a full desktop reader. Everything else about the document, including layout and image quality, is shown exactly as it is stored.
Can I edit or save changes to the PDF? +
No, and that is deliberate — this tool only reads. If you need to change the document, the other PDF tools here cover the common cases: merging, splitting, extracting pages, adding pages, watermarking and compressing. All of them run in your browser too.
Does this work on a phone? +
Yes. The page fits itself to the screen width by default, the page strip scrolls sideways, and the toolbar wraps rather than overflowing. Pinch-zoom works as it does anywhere else on the page.
