Nearly every free PDF merger works the same way: your files go up to a server, get combined there, and come back as a download link. It is a sensible way to build the feature and an uncomfortable way to handle the documents people actually merge — contracts, invoices, medical records, bank statements. Once a file has left your machine, what happens to it is a matter of policy rather than something you can verify.
This merger never sends them. Your browser reads each PDF, copies the pages you asked for into a new document and hands you the result. There is no queue, no upload progress bar and no retention window to read about, because there is no server involved at any point.
Pages are copied rather than re-rendered, so text stays selectable and searchable and images keep their original resolution — merging costs you nothing in quality. The one genuine trade-off is memory: files are held in RAM while they are combined, so a very large batch can run a browser tab out of headroom where a server would not. For ordinary documents that ceiling is far away.

Is this PDF merger really free? +
Yes, completely. There is no account, no trial, no page cap and no daily limit, and the merged PDF carries no watermark. The tool runs on your own device, so there are no server costs to recover and nothing to charge for.
Are my PDF files uploaded to a server? +
No. Every file is read and merged inside your browser using the File and PDF APIs. Nothing is transmitted, which is why this is safe for contracts, invoices, medical records and bank statements — the documents people most often need to combine and least want to hand to a stranger. Once the page has loaded you can go offline and it still works.
Is there a file size or page limit? +
The tool imposes none. The practical ceiling is your device memory, since every file is held in RAM while merging. Ordinary documents are nowhere near that limit; if you are combining hundreds of megabytes of scans, merge in a few batches instead.
Can I merge only some pages from a file? +
Yes. Each file has a Pages box. Leave it blank for the whole document, or enter something like 1-3, 7, 10- to take pages one to three, page seven, and everything from page ten onwards. Pages are added in the order the file appears in the list.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs? +
Not directly. An encrypted file is flagged in the list and skipped, because merging it would require the password. Open it in your usual PDF viewer, save a copy without the password, then merge that copy.
Does merging reduce the quality of my PDFs? +
No. Pages are copied across as they are, not re-rendered or re-compressed, so text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution. The merged file is roughly the sum of its parts in size.
