History works on short-form when it compresses time in a way the viewer was not expecting. Dates on their own are inert; two dates next to each other are a fact. Nobody is surprised that Oxford is old, and everybody is surprised that it was already teaching when the Aztec Empire had not yet been founded.

That structure — a claim that reframes the timeline — is what history cards should be built around. The date goes in the attribution line, the context in the footnote, and the claim itself stays short enough to read in a glance.

If you want the round to be answerable rather than just readable, quiz question types are in the same editor and can sit in the same project.

Tips that actually help

Frequently asked questions

Can I mix history facts with a history quiz? +

Yes. Fact cards and question types live in the same project and share one template, so a fact card followed by a question about it needs no extra setup.

Can I add images or portraits? +

Yes. Any card can carry an image and the layout reflows to fit it. Uploaded images stay on your device.

How long should each card be on screen? +

Four to five seconds. History claims usually carry a name and a date together, which takes longer to read than a one-clause fact.
