A book summary video is not a summary. Nobody watches a 45-second video to learn what a 300-page book says. What works is three or four ideas that stand on their own, stated in a way the viewer can act on without having read the book.

One idea per card is the whole structure. The label carries the book title so viewers arriving mid-scroll know what they are watching, the text carries the idea, and the footnote can carry the chapter or a supporting detail.

Because the format is so consistent, a book summary series is one of the easiest things to build repeatably: duplicate the project, change the text, keep the look.

Tips that actually help

Frequently asked questions

Can I quote directly from the book? +

Short quotations with attribution are generally acceptable, but reproducing substantial passages is not. Paraphrasing the idea is the safer default for published video.

How many cards should a summary have? +

Three to five ideas at five or six seconds each. That is 25 to 35 seconds, which is where retention still holds for informational content.

Can I build a whole series with the same look? +

Yes. Duplicate the project from the dashboard and replace the text — the template, timing and branding carry over untouched.
